First European Gathering of initiates of Babaji's Kriya Yoga

On the weekend of May 16 to 18, 2008, 35 students from 8 countries came to a chateau in Dole, in France to participate in the first European Gathering of initiates of Babaji's Kriya. The activities included the practice of all of the Kriyas taught in the first and second initiations, inspirational talks by Acharya Satyananda, fellowship and chanting of Babaji's mantra around a sacred fire all night long! Everyone came away feeling highly blessed and rejuvenated.

On Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Gava, near Barcelona, Spain, two persons were inducted into Babaji's Kriya Yoga Order of Acharyas.

Construction of the Babaji's Kriya Yoga Ashram in Badrinath, Himalayas began on May 15, 2008, with the leveling of the plot of land. A formal ceremony and puja will be conducted on the site on Sunday May 25, by a local pandit, followed by a mantra yagna with 15 pilgrims from our Bangalore ashram, lead by Vinod Kumar, its manager. The construction is being administered by Rohit Naithani. As the weather permits construction only from mid May to early July, and from early September to end of October, the construction is expected to be completed only by the fall of 2009 or 2010. Volunteers who would like to assist in the constuction during the above months, are invited to contact M. G. Satchidananda for details. Over ninety percent of the expected budget has already been donated, but more will be needed to purchase additional land and furnishings. M. G. Satchidananda celebrated his 60th birthday on June 11, 2008, with a mantra yagna at the Quebec ashram. Among the birthday greeting messages from around the world was this photo from Ekaterinburg, Russia, where Kriya Yoga sadhaks Uma and Yogeswar conduct Kriya Yoga classes for all age groups.
